The Uhing Rolling Ring Principle ：
Rolling Ring Drives are non-positive drives which convert the constant rotation of a plain round shaft into reciprocating motion. They operate like nuts on a threaded bar, however the pitch both left-hand and right-hand can be fine-tuned or set to zero. This effect is achieved by using ball bearing based Rolling Rings which are designed to tilt on the shaft, their specially crowned running surfaces being pressed against the shaft as it rotates.
The main advantages of the rolling ring Traverse Uint principle are:
- highest possible efficiency due to the fact that the gear and the payload are completely supported by roller bearings
- automatic traversing movement
- variable traversing speeds ranging from 0 m/s to a maximum of 4.2 m/s; can also be separately set for the two directions with constant rotation of the shaft

- high dynamics at the points of reversal
- can be released from the shaft
